different kind of god; he was a giant who swore brotherhood to Odin king of
the Norse gods. Loki was a handsome man who enjoyed telling jokes. Unfortunately the jokes were often insulting to the
gods and they did not enjoy it. Although he could be insulting the gods enjoyed his company. Loki had friends and enemies.
Some of his allies where Odin, Frigg, Angerboda, and Sigyn. One of his most interesting allies was Angerboda one of his many
mistresses gave birth to three monstrous children, Jorrmugand, Fenrir, and Hel. Jorrmugand was a large snake and sworn enemy
of Thor the thunder god. Fenrir was the great wolf, and Hel half woman half rotting flesh. Loki also had enemies. His enemies
where Thor, and many other gods and goddesses. His relatives where many, but his most famous relative was Sigyn his wife.
She was a nice person who didn’t care how bad he got. One thing she supported Loki on was the death of Balder. It
all began when Balder kept having visions of death and his mother became worried. So she went out and asked everything (life
form/object) not to harm Balder. Everything agreed, but his mother missed one thing, mistletoe. Since Balder was practically
invincible the gods made a game out of throwing stuff a Balder. Loki figured this out found and sharpened a mistletoe branch
and asked the blind god Hodar if he wanted to play. So Loki guided Hodar to aim at balder and helped throw the dart. The mistletoe
pierced Balder’s heart and he died. So Balder’s mom The gods suspected that Loki was the god who killed
Balder so he avoided all gods for a long time. One day Loki all of a sudden appeared at a banquet and started to pick on the
gods telling all of their secrets. Then Thor walked in and Loki mocked him and ran. The gods chased Loki and then he turned
into a salmon. He jumped into the water, but the gods new his tricks and they caught him in a net. To punish Loki they tied
him to three rocks with a venomous snake above him. Every time the snake dripped his venom Loki would go into a spasm which
was thought to be the cause of earthquakes. Even after all of his evil his wife Sigyn always stood beside him. She held a
bowl over Loki to catch the venom, But once in a while the bowl had to be emptied and once again the venom dripped onto Loki
and he went into another spasm.
